Major Russian Assaults Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to drinking water, according to local authorities.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has increased assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty rockets attacked energy facilities, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, according to city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area experienced intense attacks overnight. A minor died and multiple civilians were hurt.

The assaults come after nights of bombing campaigns in the region, portions of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were bracing for more assaults.
